Özet

Rhinocerebral mucormycosis is often fatal opportunistic necrotizing infection of the sinuses. Invasion of the central nervous system is rare but often lethal. A 47-year-old man complained with headache was diagnosed as rhinocerebral mucormycosis according to clinical and laboratory findings. In the follow-up, his consciousness progressed to coma rapidly. Computerized tomography showed the presence of frontal hematoma in left and subarachnoid hemorrhage. The patient died because of tentorial herniation 6 hours later.
